MLHCP/PR004/Tuesday March 2 2021: – The Minister of Lands, Housing and Country Planning, Dr. Turad Senesie, accompanied by his colleague Minister of Defence & Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), visited and toured the Benguema Community on Tuesday March 2, 2021 to ascertain the extent of land encroachments into a Reserved Military Land Stretch in that part of the country.
The Minister was shown a vast portion of the said land that is being encroached with no proper housing planning and documentations. Dr. Senesie has asked the Director of Lands and Surveys to take necessary actions to regularize, preserve and protect the over 1,700 acres of land.
The Minister of Defence and the Chief of Staff expressed appreciation to the Minister of Lands for visiting the site and taking steps to halt the negative encroachment trend.
