MLHCP, PR010, Friday March 19 2021:- The Minister of Lands, Housing and Country Planning, Dr. Turad Senesie has assured the Milton Margai College of Education and Technology (MMCET) administration of appropriate professional support in the strides to protect and regularize land belonging to the college.
The Minister was addressing the college’s principal, Dr. Philip Kanu, who was accompanied by a team of administrators to pay a courtesy call on the minister.
At the meeting held at the conference room in the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Country Planning on Thursday March 18 2021, Dr. Kanu made a passionate plea for the ministry to support the college to protect its land in various parts of the country from encroachers and to regularize the land documentations.
Principal Kanu specifically asked the ministry to continue to support the college to complete the recovery of the Goderich campus land.
“The college intends to fence the entire land stretch but that will only happen after the ministry would have placed beacons demarcating the boundary,” he disclosed.
“We are also kindly requesting for the ministry to re-survey land at our campuses in Brookfields and Congo Cross,” he implored, while further asking for same to be done for the college land situate at Mamamah and Kono.
In response, Minister Turad Senesie advised the principal to do the requests formally, while assuring him of prompt and decisive actions.
“The Ministry will give you all the appropriate support needed to protect and regularise the college’s land,” he ended.
